Marie Fernandez-Abou joined Brand Poets in summer 2025 and brings a wealth of agency experience and industry-know-how to the leadership team. Most recently, she was the Chief Marketing Officer of Nexval, an AI technology firm specializing in the finance industry. Prior to the CMO role at Nexval, she served as V/P of Marketing for Atlas Ocean Voyages where she named the cruise line, created the Corporate identity and the overall brand architecture.

Marie brings 25 years of experience as a partner managing client-agency relationships with Imagery Creative where her roles included strategic marketing, business development, sales management, and finding unique ways to market Imagery on a National and International level.

Under Marie’s management, Imagery was recognized for numerous accolades such as Inc. Magazine’s ‘Inc. 500/5000 Award’ recipient, over 60 Addy Awards from the American Advertising Federation (AAF) for creative excellence, and the firm’s accreditation by the American Association of awarded ‘Best of Show’ in 2013 for their Reviv Campaign.

Additional achievements include accolades such as ‘Best Business Turn Around Award’ by the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce and securing a spot in the ‘Top 100 Minority Businesses’ for several years in a row. Personal achievements include winning the Hispanic Woman of Distinction award, receiving an Outstanding Business Woman award by the South Florida Puerto Rican Chamber of Commerce, and being named President of the Advertising Federation of Miami for two years in a row after serving on the Board in several other key positions. While at Imagery, she wondered why children could not participate in helping out in the community. This led to the formation of ‘The Pack of Dogs’; a kid’s volunteer task force that assists non-profits with their project needs once per month. The group has over 500 members and has been active since December 2014.

Prior to Imagery, Marie was the V/P of Marketing & Corporate Communications for Bayview Financial Trading Group. At Bayview, she managed the strategic marketing efforts of all eight-business units for the Company. During the financial boom, campaigns and special events created by her were unique and memorable in the investment-banking arena. While completing her graduate studies at The University of Miami, Marie began coordinating and promoting non-profit events for such organizations such as The American Cancer Society, The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis, and Make A Wish Foundation. Coupled with Corporate event experiences, she mastered the art of creating concepts for special events, handling everything from themes to logistics, execution, and hosting of these events on a nationwide basis. Advertising and marketing initiatives by Marie have transcended the norm. Her acute marketing mind, knowledge of three languages, extensive travel, and cultural experiences, combined with her education, position her perfectly in the unique South Florida market. She received Bachelors of Science in Communications from Florida State University and a Master of Arts in Marketing

Communications with Honors, from the University of Miami. Marie is married and a proud mother of 3 boys, plays pickleball, enjoys practicing yoga, loves to travel, is a devoted contemporary art connoisseur and an active member of her Pinecrest community.
