How much of ourselves do we show online?
In the time of COVID-19, social media has become a life raft for many of us. It gave us a chance to connect with others while maintaining social distance. But what was it exactly that had us coming back for more? Was it the sourdough bread recipes or the infamous Dalgona coffee? While delicious as that sounds, we have found that posting authentic content is the winner here.
Here are a few ways you can get more personal with your audience:
- Create FOMO: “FOMO” (Fear of Missing Out) is a tried and true way of gaining your audience’s attention. Sharing your experience with the product/service, rather than the product itself, taps into the follower’s emotions.
- Raw Content: While perfectly manicured posts have made a major impact in the past, raw content such as “behind the scenes” boosts engagement up like no other. This allows the viewer to feel like they are part of the process.
- Make an Appearance: Followers have an easier time engaging with an account when there is a face to the name. Tools such as Live Feeds are a great way to engage with your audience and allow for direct interaction with the brand.
